Popis: | 101 Purpose: This study aimed to compare the different level of volume of the plyometric training program on lower limb power, agility and the technique specific movement among high school wrestlers. Methods: Participants were chosen from high school male wrestlers. Based on their pre-tested score of squat lifting, they were split into 3 groups randomly: high-volume training group (3 days a week, 14 sets, 10 times each set), low-volume training group (3 days a week, 8 sets, 10 times each set), and control group. Each group had received different volume of plyometric training. We assessed their performance before and after each training among lower limb power, agility and wrestling specific movement. Statistical analysis was analyzed on one-way ANCOVA and Bonferroni post hoc test for comparison. Statistical significant level was set at α = .05. Results: After 2 weeks of training, both high-volume group and low-volume group had their performance significantly improved compared with control group among lower-limb muscle power, agility and wrestling specific movement. Also, the high-volume group was significantly improved than the low-volume group. Conclusion: With two weeks of plyometric training, athletes can significantly improve their performance among lower limb power, agility and the speed of wrestling specific movement by increasing the jump frequency to 240 times per weeks. The result showed even a better performance when the jump frequency reaching to 420 times per week. Recommend 420 times of jump frequency per weeks for those athletes who can bear the high volume training program. |
