A Study of Learning-satisfaction and Self Concept of the Curricular Activities of Wind Band for Pupils in New Taipei City

Popis: | 101 The study aims to discuss learning satisfaction and self-concept for the pupils in New Taipei City Elementary Schools to participate in wind community activities. The study adopts purposive sampling and selects all pupils of Xinzhuang Elementary School, Chengzhou Elementary School and Ming Chi Elementary School in New Taipei City in 2012 Academic Year who participate in wind community activities as study objects. Total valid samples are 188 copies. Data processing is conductes by the computer software package SPSS for Windows18.0 version to take descriptive statistics, independent sample T-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe post hoc comparison, and Pearson correlation coefficients for data analysis. Obtained study results are as the following: 1. When pupils of elementary school participate in wind community activities, all factor names of learning satisfaction are up to satisfaction degree averagely. Among the factor names, administrative caring is the best, followed by personal cognition, teacher teaching, learning effectiveness and peer relationships sequentially. All factor names of self-concept are up to satisfaction degree averagely. Among the factor, family ego is the best, followed by psychological ego, school ego and physical ego sequentially. 2. On learning satisfaction aspect: Learning satisfaction of “peer relation” for girls is obviously higher than boys. Learning satisfaction of “teacher teaching” for Grade VI students is obviously higher than Grade V. Learning satisfaction of “teacher teaching” and “peer relation” for students with parent support obviously higher than students with no opinion from parent. Learning satisfaction of “teacher teaching” for students who want to change instrument learning is obviously higher than students who want to change. Learning satisfaction of “learning effectiveness” for students who want to continue participating in wind community activities after graduation is obviously higher than students don’t want to continue participating. 3. On self-concept aspect: “family ego” and “psychological ego” concepts for Grade IV students are obviously higher than Grade V students. “Physical ego” concept of Grade II students is obviously higher than Grade V students. “Family ego” concept for students with parent support is obviously higher than students with no opinion from parent. 4. When pupils of New Taipei City Elementary Schools participate in wind community activities, learning satisfaction and self-concept of students have highly positive correlation with all factor names overall. Finally, the study takes comprehensive discussion for study results and proposes feasible suggestions for wind tutors, school administrative unit and students’ parents. |
