Increasing development of science and technology, single-component polymeric materials have been insufficient to meet the demand of today''s products. The polymer blends is born in this era, the most famous example is the PC / ABS. Due to PC / ABS has superior performance in a wide range of industrial applications, so it become a popular engineering plastics. PC/ABS has both advantage of PC and ABS. PC can be reinforcing weaker flame retardant of ABS. and improve impact resistance of materials. ABS can improve acid resistance of PC, both complement each other, and create a diverse improving new materials. As home appliances products, PC / ABS material mainly used in the structure of the product. Television chassis cover that sale to the European, it is using the PC / ABS material. Customer respond products after a period of use have cracked damaged condition in recent years, and the cleaning agent should be judged as the culprit causing damage to the product. This study is to investigate the acid / alkaline cleaner for PC / ABS chemical damage arising. We firstly used tensile test machine to do tensile test on PC / ABS material that cleaner impact on the physical property. The results revealed that the material in an alkaline environment, the tensile strength decrease as the alkali treatment time increase but for acidic environment is less affected. It can also be found by 3D analysis of the surface, surface roughness increases as treatment days increase in an alkaline condition. Finally analysis of its chemical properties by FT-IR, found that the material in an alkaline environment may be destroyed, it’s also indirectly confirms the above two kinds of analysis results. It will destroy the chemical bonding of the material in alkaline environment, and reducing the physical properties.
