Moral Reasoning、Emotion Attributions and Parenting Style on Adolescents' Delinquency.

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between moral reasoning、emotion attributions、parenting style and adolescents’ delinquency. This study adopts questionnaire method which focuses on public and private high school students in New Taipei City. In a sample of 617 female and 657 male from grades 11, 12, 13 (M=17.27 years, SD=.88). The data was analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, pearson’s product moment correlation and multiple regression. The results were summarized as the following: 1. The influence of gender and age on high school students’ delinquency were significant. Namely boys were more likely to commit deviant behaviors than girls. And older high school students were the higher possibility of deviant behavior. 2. The moral reasoning can negatively predict high school students’ delinquency. 3.The influence of emotion attributions on high school students’ delinquency was significant, in which the satisfaction attributions of the greatest influence, namely higher degree of satisfaction was more likely to commit deviant behaviors. 4.The influence of perceiving parents’ parenting style on high school students’ delinquency was significant. However perceiving care of parenting style and teach of parenting style were less likely to commit deviant behaviors. And perceiving negligence of parenting style was more likely to commit deviant behaviors. 5.Overall, the most significant is “perceiving negligence of parenting style” and “satisfaction attributions”. The next is the “moral reasoning” and “perceiving teach of parenting style”.
