Popis: | 101 The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Auricularia auricula-judae as a dietary fiber supplementation on gastrointestinal motility and intestinal microflora in Sprague-Dawley rats. The three-month experiment, each batch of experimental period of 29 days (4 weeks), forty eight-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups : control group, low dose group (0.5X; 0.09 g / kg / day), the dose group (1X; 0.19 g / kg / day) and high dose group (2X; 0.38 g / kg / day), daily measurements of body weight, food intake, water drinking, urine volume and defecation. Gastric emptying and intestinal transit were assessed in conscious male rats 15 min after intragastric instillation of a mixture containing radioactive Na251CrO4 and 10% charcoal. Fecal and cecum samples were also collected at weeks 4 for intestinal microflora determination. Our results showed that gastric emptying and intestinal transit increased in 0.5 X、1 X、2X group when compared with control group. And the intestinal microflora results showed that lactobacilli, bifidobacteria, total anaerobes counts increased in 0.5、1、2X group when compared with control group at the 4 week period in the fecal and cecum. The E.coli counts decreased in 0.5 X、1 X、2X group when compard with control group at the 4 week period in the fecal and cecum. Therefore, Auricularia auricula-judae can increase the GI motility and improve the intestinal microflora and have no side effects. Auricularia auricula-judae can improve the GI function and intestinal microflora through to maintain normal bowel function. |
