Study and Fabrication of Calcium Strontium Titanate Dielectric Materials and Components for Wireless Communication System Applications

There are two main subjects in this dissertation. The first part is developed the (Ca0.2Sr0.8)3(AxTi1-x)2O7(A=Zr,Sn;x = 0.02~0.1) microwave dielectric materials and its’ microwave dielectric characteristics were also investigated. From the experimental results, (Ca0.2Sr0.8)3(Zr0.06Ti0.94)2O7 ceramics have the excellent dielectric properties which εr ~ 74, Q×f ~ 18000 GHz and τf ~ 418 ppm/°C at a sintering temperature of 1520oC for 4 hours. On the other hand, (Ca0.2Sr0.8)3(Sn0.06Ti0.94)2O7 ceramics also have the excellent dielectric properties which εr ~ 56.6, Q×f ~ 40000 GHz and τf ~ 270 ppm/°C at a sintering temperature of 1490oC for 4 hours. The second part is designed a dual-band band-pass filter for f0 = 2.4GHz and f1 = 5.2GHz with defected ground structure and stepped impedance resonators. Finally, the filter is implemented on FR4 and (Ca0.2Sr0.8)3(Sn0.06Ti0.94)2O7 substrates and compare the component characteristics.
