Color rendering index (CRI) is a predicting standard math method to evaluate light quality. The current CIE CRI (CIE-Ra) has been used for 40 years, which was developed based on the solving tungsten light and fluorescent evaluation. The CIE-Ra method is out-of-date and obsolete. Follow the new light sources to use on the increase, CIE-Ra has been proved, the color prediction was inaccurate, the method couldn’t evaluate the light source and color appearance. Therefore, the global lighting industries are aware that it is necessarily to define a new color rendering formula. The developing color rendering methods include the directions of color fidelity, color harmony, color preference, color discrimination and color vision. In spite of, the standard formula use color fidelity, but color preference has been focused and accepted, CIE has recognized to be an evaluation light method. Due to encounter the optical instruments issues, the study will use monitor simulation to research color preference, the selected color objects will be captured by a top quality camera and displayed on a well-calibrated monitor, and finish the visual experiments to establish an interpolated model that based on color preference. In the future, the experimental results hope to contribute to determine light quality guideline. In addition, the method is used in LED illuminant field and built a memory color model fit for the oriental region.
