The film production team of "Seediq Bale", though encountering many challenges in the course of film production, has set a great example in the history of Taiwan’s local film industry. What supports the whole team’s persistent engagement is their strong belief and deep calling, which enables them to transform their emotional tension to creative tension and accordingly overcome numerous difficulties. The researcher explored how the film director, Te-sheng Wei, and the film production team turned an impossible mission into possibilities with collective power? In this study, the researcher applied Otto Scharmer’s Theory U to probe into the collective creative process of the film production team by its five stages, namely co-initiating, co-sensing, presensing, co-creating, and co-evolving. The goal of this study is two-fold: One is to investigate the creative production process of the film "Seediq Bale" for more Taiwanese film-makers’ reference. The other is to uncover the many efforts expended on the film-making processes and how the team overcome the innumerable difficulties they encounter for the film-makers’ and adult creativity workers’ reference. The study took the case-study approach, inviting 5 core members from the "Seediq Bale" creative team as research participants. It also adopted persistent observation, in-depth interview, and document analysis of multiple resources. The conclusions of this study could be summarized as below: 1. The film production team experienced the five stages of U-Journey with recursive transformation. 2. "Seediq Bale" is a collectively creative process with life engagement. 3. The director of the film plays a critical role in the film production process. 4. Social interaction, including critical benefactors and teamship support, affects team creativity and plays the gatekeeping role of the film’s success. The study also provides suggestions for Taiwan’s film directors, film production team, adult creativity workers, and those who are interested in further studies.
