The Study of the Junior High Schools Students' Environmental Knowledge, Attitude and Behavior in Tainan

| Popis: | 101 The main purposes of this study were to investigate the current status of the environmental knowledge, attitude and behavior among the students of two junior high schools in Tainan. This study also examined the variations of the environmental knowledge, environmental attitude and environmental behavior in the students with different characteristics (including gender, grades, frequency of closing to nature, living period of present residence, social-and-economic status of students'' parents). In addition, this study investigates the correlation among the relevant environmental knowledge, attitude and behavior. The participators were consisted of 368 students the junior high school students. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA and Pearson product-moment correlation. The main findings are concluded as follows: 1.The major sources of the environmental knowledge of the junior high school students come from television programs, internet, and teachers. 2.The most serious environmental problem in students’ residential areas is “the noise pollution”. 3.There are statistically significant differences in the environmental knowledge, environmental attitude and environmental behavior on the students with different grades. 4.There is no statistically significant difference in the environmental knowledge, environmental attitude and environmental behavior on the students with different social-and-economic status of family. 5.There is no statistically significant difference in the environmental knowledge, environmental attitude and environmental behavior on the students with different gender. 6.There is a statistically positive correlation between the environmental knowledge and environmental attitude. 7.There is a significant positive correlation between the environmental attitude and environmental behavior. 8.The correlation is not statistically significant between environmental knowledge and the environmental behavior for the students in Tainan. |
