Base on Strategic Human Resource Management Perspective to Explore Top Management Team Characteristics for Forming Green Corporate Culture

To answer the call of the over exploitation on natural resources, many firms are on the road of initiating green management. Perhaps their motivations for doing so have derived from acting as socially responsibility firms. Or will doing so lead the firms to more potential opportunities for future business? All in all, from the observations of current study, it seems that most firms’ initiations in green management do not lead to performance outcomes as expected. The observations reflect that often times, such green management does not create the kind of impact to firm’s performance was because culturally, the firm do not embedded with a green mindset that act as the core of foundation for people who manage and those who are being managed. However, Top Management Team characteristics (e. g. Value, Attitude, Vision and Leadership Style) are inseparable from corporate culture. Depend on different characteristics, TMT will get organizational flexibility to build innovative, eco-minded and cooperative corporate culture through adopt different HRM mechanisms to manage green human capital. In this article, we found three conclusions (1) When TMTs’ green value is more significant, TMT will put more resources in green SHRM. (2) When TMTs’ environmental attitude is more significant, the teamwork and eco-minded of green corporate culture will more significant. (3) When corporate put more resources in Human Capital Flexibility, the innovative corporate culture will be more significant.
