A Study on the Relationship between Teachers' Professional Learning Communities and School Organizational Culture– Taking Junior High Schools and Elementary Schools in Central Taiwan as examples

Popis: | 101 The purposes of this study were to explore the relationship between teacher’s professional learning communities and school organizational culture of junior high schools and elementary schools in central Taiwan. The research data were collected through questionnaire survey; participants of the questionnaire survey were 382 teachers who participated in teacher’s professional learning communities from 23 schools in Taichung City, Changhua County and Nantou County. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study were as follows: first, the current situation of professional learning communities was medium-high level. Second, the performance of school organizational culture was medium-high level. Third, there were significant differences on the perceptions of professional learning communities in terms of years of service, school size, education and school level. Fourth, there were significant differences on the perceptions of school organizational culture in terms of years of service, school size and education. Fifth, there was medium positive correlation between teacher’s professional learning communities and school organizational culture. Sixth, teacher’s professional learning communities could predict the scale of organizational culture. Based on the findings of this study, the study proposed some suggestions for educational administration institutions, schools, teachers, and the references for future studies. |
