A Study of Zero Corporal Punishment Policy Conduct and a Strategy of Classroom Management for Elementary School Teachers: Taichung City as an Example

Popis: | 101 The purpose of the study was to investigate the difference of elementary school teachers in Taichung city towards zero corporal punishment policy conduct and strategies of classroom management. The study based on literature review and developed the questionnaire. Sampling from 229 public elementary schools’ teachers according to the official information of 101 the academic year from Education Bureau of Taichung City government, the study adopted questionnaire survey. Stratified cluster randomly sampled from 60 elementary schools. There are 710 questionnaires were issued and 666 ones were valid. The valid returned rate was 93.8%. The data obtained from the inventories are analyzed by frequencies, percentage, average, standard error, t-test, one-way ANOVA with SPSS 18.0. According to the purposes of the study, the findings were as follows: 1. The feeling of elementary school teachers toward zero corporal punishment policy conduct tended to be medium matched. 2. The strategies of classroom management for elementary school teachers were influenced by zero corporal punishment policy. 3. The teachers who are below 30, short work experience, subject teacher and administrative matched high in zero corporal punishment policy conduct. 4. The schools where located at mountain district and the parents and students who are highly cognitive to the policy were matched higher to zero corporal punishment policy. 5. The elementary school teachers who are female, over 41 years old, senior, classroom teacher and highly participate in workshops ranked high in classroom strategies. 6. The elementary school teachers whose schools are located at mountain district and center district, scale over 49 classes, parents are highly agreeable and students are highly understand to the policy ranked high in classroom management strategies. According to the conclusion, the researcher had made some suggestions for the administrative, school administrators, teachers and following research. |
