Since the 1980’s, Taiwan government began to promote actively the optoelectronic technology industry. Over the years, there are thriving and rapid development of parts and products related to optoelectronic appliances, displays, optical communications utensils and so on. Moreover, traditional tape has been applied in many aspects of manufacturing the parts and products in the industry. Manufacturers nowadays target on fast, stable, accurate in their production line. It is necessary to advance towards production line in automation to reach the three goals. Automation has greatly increased its productivity, reduce labor costs, improve machine activation, and stabilize product quality. In this study, quality function deployment (QFD), flow meters software-Flexim, and questionnaires are applied along with planning on product, part, and production to produce the product that really meet customers’ demand. The importance of coating step of e-tape production was found through the questionnaires. Furthermore, Flexim is applied to simulate the workflow to improve the efficiency. This method combined with Drum-Buffer-Rope (DBR) schedule could save idle time and avoid the false decisions due to the factor of human subjective behavior. From the result of case study of A company, it is found that the statistical results of production efficiency increased more than 20%, yield rate increased 10% and diminished consumptions about 30%. Besides, there was more time been saved to deal with the trials products and sudden incident..
