Popis: | 101 After the implementation of the two-day weekend, everyone’s values of leisure life had been changed. Their workload had been gradually increased under a wide range of educational reforms. Casual living arrangements, therefore, had become the main way for teachers to relieve the pressure. This study had taken Tainan City elementary school teachers as the object. 485 elementary school teachers in Tainan City had been studied with questionnaires, which indicated that the overall work pressure and leisure life of elementary school teachers was moderate. “Educational reform” got the highest scores in the perception of the work pressure, while "quiet leisure activities” got the highest scores in teachers' leisure life. The study found that teacher's work pressure mainly came from the child-rearing burden in megalopolitan areas, especially teachers under the age of forty married and having children significantly had more pressure than unmarried teachers, teachers aged in their forties had less work pressure than those in other age-groups teachers, and Tainan City teachers had higher work pressure than Tainan County teachers. In the engagement of leisure activities, teachers out of large schools of megalopolitan areas involved more, especially teachers aged in forties had higher level of leisure life involvement than those in their thirties, teachers with twenty-one to twenty-five-years teaching experiences had higher level of leisure involvement than those of eleven to fifteen years teaching experiences, teachers with master’s degree had higher level of leisure involvement than those with bachelor’s degree, homeroom teachers had more than teachers with administrative work, teachers in the school of above forty-nine classes had more than teachers in others, and Tainan County teachers had more than Tainan City teachers. A negative relation existed between the job pressure and the leisure life, which indicated that the greater pressure teachers percepted, the lower level of leisure involvement teachers had. Therefore, educational authorities may conduct leisure activities for teachers to relieve their work pressure. It was recommended that teachers may arrange their leisure life in spare time to facilitate physical and mental health and improve their teaching quality as well. |
