In this study, electrospun ruthenium dioxide (e-RuO2)/titanium foil (Ti)/C-PVA/Clay/e-RuO2/Ti electrochemical capacitors (e-RuO2/Ti - EC) were fabricated by using sandwich assembling technique, where e-RuO2/Ti, C-PVA/clay behaved as the bipolar electrode and solid electrolyte respectively. e-RuO2/Ti electrodes were subsequently prepared by electrospinning (ES) process with different operation parameters, where PEO,DMF and RuCl3 behaved as the polymer matrix, solvent and precursor of RuO2. Electrospun e-RuO2 on dipped RuO2 electrochemical capacitors (e-RuO2/d-RuO2/Ti-EC) were also discuss in this study. In spite of e-RuO2/Ti electrode exhibiting good cycle stability (over 30,000 times cycle number) and high discharge rate, however, they show lower charge rate and larger leakage current due to the residual PEO in the electrode matrix. The best specific capacitance of e-RuO2/Ti (287.34 F/g) can be obtained with the optimal ES and thermal treatment (i.e.,composition(weight ratio= PEO/RuCl3/DMF=1: 2.5: 40), working voltage: 6 kV, working distance:20 cm, flow rate:0.1 mL/hr and electrospun time:120 min and calcined at 300 ℃ for 30 min). As for LCR analysis, the electrospun RuO2 nanofiber can effectively improve the decaying of specific capacitance with frequency. The energy density and power density of e-RuO2/Ti - EC and e-RuO2/d- RuO2/Ti - EC are 4.20 Wh/kg, 134.50 W/kg and 0.79 Wh/kg, 14.50 W/kg respectively.
