Study on an Automation System for Preparing a 3D Polymer Gel Dosimeter

Popis: | 101 Polymer gel dosimeter can provide useful information for verifying 3D dose distribution. The main purpose of this study is to developed an automated system for producing NIPAM dosimeter, and to improve its stability and reduce the artificially prepared errors, for enhancing the gel dosimeter quality. Important characteristics of the gel dosimeter were footnoted as follows: 1. Gel dosimeter linearity: R2 ≧ 0.995 in the dose range of 0~12 Gy 2. Dose response sensitivity: ≧ 0.0130 mm-1Gy-1 in the dose range of 0~12 Gy 3. Gel uniformity:>97 % 4. Gel dosimeters can be prepared in 90 minutes to complete. Gel volume per batch is greater than 1.5 L. 5. Dose response differs is less than 3% between batches of each NIPAM dosimeter formulation 6. Inter-batch reproducibility is more than 98.5% for the automatic preparation system 7. Comparison of Gamma index of NIPAM dosimeter and calculated treatment planning using 3% dose difference and 3mm distance to agreement are more than 85 % Conclusion: The results show the automation system is a potential method for preparing various volumes NIPAM dosimeter. |
