Popis: | 101 Objective: Cancer resource one-stop service is a newly established and developing role for continuous cancer patient care in cancer care system; and relative research is insufficient in Taiwan. This research aims to exploring the influence of cancer resource one-stop service on breast cancer patients’ uncertainty and quality of life. Method: This study is a Quasi-experimental design study. The structured instruments utilized in the study included a demographic questionnaire, Brief Symptom Rating Scale (BSRS-5), the Chinese version Mishel’s Uncertainty in Illness Scale (MUIS) and the Chinese version European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life Questionnaire-Cancer (QLQ-C30). There were 116 participants recruited in this research from February to June in 2013. Purposive sampling was used and data was collected at the surgical breast cancer outpatient department in a medical center in Taiwan. Participants who were receiving hormone therapies were divided into experimental group (57 participants) and control group (59 participants). In the post-test, 100 questionnaires were returned by 46 experimental group participants and 54 control group participants. The experimental group received traditional routine care and twice cancer resource one-stop service, while the control group received only the traditional routine care without the cancer resource one-stop service. The data analysis was done by using Chi-square test, ANOVA, t- test, Pearson correlation coefficient test and Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE). Result: The results indicate that the intervention of cancer resource one-stop service is significantly correlated with the decreasing of breast cancer patients’ uncertainty, ambiguity and complexity, as well as increasing patients’ social functional in quality of life. In addition, GEE was used to compare patients’ Mishel’s Uncertainty in Illness Scale between experimental and control groups; the complexity was significantly improved in experimental group (p=0.031). In the uncertainty dimension, uncertainty and ambiguity have significantly negative relationship with the functional indicators and the global health-related quality of life in the quality of life (p=0.001). Conclusion: This research exhibits the results indicate that the intervention of cancer resource one-stop service is significantly correlated with the decreasing of breast cancer patients’ uncertainty, ambiguity and complexity, as well as increasing patients’ social function in quality of life. The research outcomes may be a reference resource for medical stuffs who work in cancer care. It also can be used for further policy development related of cancer resource one-stop service in the future. |
