Popis: | 101 The military has long been identified with a relatively closed, rigid and inflexible organizational structure, in which officers’ and soldiers’ communication satisfaction is often ignored. However, with the transformation of the national military service system, the traditional military leadership style that features “absolute obedience” needs to be changed to a more lawful and reasonable one in order to recruit more excellent people to serve in the army. With this in mind, the military gradually pays more attention to intra-organizational communication at military units. Blogs are particularly highlighted owing to their simplicity, immediacy, interactivity and transmissibility. By means of creating a communication platform of this kind, the Army Command aims to provide every one with one more channel to voice their opinions. Meanwhile, this kind of platform can hopefully establish an adequate environment for communication, reduce officers’ and soldiers’ job stress in the line of duty, and further strengthen their organizational identification and group coherence. The participants in this study were a group of officers and soldiers at the Armor School, who were specifically selected because the school had set up a blog style communication platform for its members. Data was collected based on the questionnaire method and later analyzed by means of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Results of the study indicated that, after the communication platform was created, the participants’ communication satisfaction with the platform positively affected their organizational identification, while the effect of job stress on organizational identification was negative. These results showed that building up a blog style communication platform can effectively enhance officers’ and soldiers’ communication satisfaction with the use of blogs, and relatively decrease their job stress. In the meantime, the platform can strengthen their organizational identification with the unit where they are based. It is hoped that the findings of this research can provide the Army Command with suggestions for practical management. |
