綜藝談話性節目中名人夫妻關係的再現與閱聽人解讀－以「今晚誰當家」為例

| Popis: | 101 The study focuses on how husband and wife’s roles are represented in Taiwan’s variety talk show "Who is the boss of family tonight?" This study attempts to answer the following research questions: 1. What are the narrative modes of the shows? 2. Does gender stereotyping happen in the shows? 3. Why do the audience watch the shows, how do they interpret the shows and what are the factors which influence their interpretations? For this study, a text analysis was performed on ten typical episodes of the talk show. Then nine female viewers were in-depth interviewed. The results of text analysis indicate that stereotyping is prominent throughout the major issues about husband-and-wife relationships: love, family economies, housework, body images and family values. The results of interviews show that audiences were conscious of some gender-stereotyping revealed in the show. In addition, the most important factors that influence their interpretations are family background, reference groups, education, and daily observations. Some limitations to this study are that it was a small sample size. For future research, a larger sample size would be used. More programs should be looked at in order to come to more specific conclusions. Keywords: tabloid culture, gender stereotype, variety show, talk show, audience research. |
