Popis: | 101 The problem how to maximize the overall system throughput in wireless networks has been a high-profile issue. In this thesis, we investigate the throughput maximization problem over the Macrocell-Femtocell network that is based on WiMAX standard. In the problem, we are asked to find a group of Femtocell Access Points (FAPs) which work together with the Base Station (BS)) to serve all the designated Mobile Stations (MSs) so as to boost the overall system throughput as many as possible. We propose an optimization framework to the studied problem, and prove that the studied problem is NP-complete. Due to the computation complexity, we come up with a heuristic algorithm, called Femtocell Throughput Gathering (FTG), to resolve the problem quickly. Unlike the existing solutions which exploit the homogeneous Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) for the selected FAPs, FTG adaptively chooses a proper MCS to each selected FAPs so as to improve the throughput of the served MSs. To evaluate the performance of FTG, we first show that the performance of FTG is bound to the optimal solution. We also conduct a series of simulations to show that FTG can deliver good performance under various simulation settings. |
