A Study of Sport Clubs Participating Motivation and Learning Satisfaction on Students in Elementary Schools in Yunlin County

| Popis: | 100 The purpose of the research is to explore the motivations of students from senior classes in elementary schools in Yunlin County in taking part in school sport clubs and their learning satisfaction as well as the differences and relevance between them. The research method is the questionnaire survey and the objects of the study are students from senior classes of Yunlin County participating in sport clubs in the year of 2011. Samples were taken through stratified purposeful sampling according to the size of the schools. 420 questionnaires have been distributed with 368 of valid ones and the response rate of 88%. This research adopted the methods including descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, One-way ANOVA, Scheffe'' method for post hoc comparisons and Pearson product-moment correlation to conduct the data analysis and statistic test to draw up the following conclusions: 1.The participating motivation of students from senior classes in elementary schools in Yunlin County in taking part in school sport clubs can be divided into three levels, among which “to have fun” ranks the first; the second reason is “somatic fitness”; “self-expression” ranks the last. 2.Obvious differences exist in background variables including sex, the categories of sport clubs, the degree of parents’ support and extra sports time for students from senior classes in elementary schools in Yunlin County in terms of their participating motivations of sport clubs. 3.The learning satisfaction of students from senior classes in elementary schools in Yunlin County with the sport clubs can be classified into four levels: “learning effects” is the most valued aspect; the next is “interpersonal interaction”, “teacher’s teaching” ranks the third and the last one is “field and equipment”. 4.Obvious differences exist in the learning satisfaction with the sport clubs in terms of background variables including grade, the degree of parents’ support and extra sports time for students from senior classes in elementary schools in Yulin County. 5.There is a highly positive correlation between the participating motivation and the learning satisfaction of students from senior classes in elementary schools in Yunlin County in taking part in school sport clubs. There is a highly positive correlation between the participating motivations and the learning satisfaction of students from senior classes in elementary schools in Yunlin County in taking part in school sport clubs. In the end, the researcher draws up conclusions from the research findings and offers feasible suggestions for the administrative staff in schools, the instructors of the schools’ clubs and future researchers. |
