A Reversible Data Hiding Method With Reduced Location Map

Popis: | 100 Ni et al. in 2006 proposed a novel data hiding method by shifting the image histogram. Tsai et al. in 2009 extent Ni. et al.’s work and has better performance. In Tsai et al.’s method, the cover image is partitioned into blocks, and the prediction errors are calculated by subtracting the center pixel value from other pixels in the same block. Data are embedded by shifting the prediction errors. However, Tsai et al.’s method may cause extra overhead when dealing with the overflow and underflow problems. This thesis proposes a mechanism to effectively handle those overflow and underflow pixels by recording the positions in a specially designed table. The experimental results reveal that the proposed method has better embedding performance without sacrificing the image quality and payload. |
