A Study on Construction of Accreditation Indicators for Elementary Schools Self-Evaluation Program in Taipei City Abstract This study aimed to construct the accreditation indicators for elementary schools self-evaluation program in Taipei city thereby confirming the indictors of the weight system. Fuzzy Delphi Method and Analytic Hierarchy Process were adopted as the main research methods. Initially, a framework of the questionnaire was developed for “The Construction of Accredition Indicators for Elementary Schools Self-evaluation Program in Taipei City”. Moreover, thirty academics in education fields, groups of school evaluators, and school principals were invited to offer opinions and recommendations for composing a Fuzzy Delphi and Analytic Hierarchy Process as well as for the selections of indicators and giving weight. Accordingly, items were carefully studied and weighted to produce the final and official questionnaire for “The Accreditation Indicators for Elementary Schools Self-evaluation Program in Taipei City”. In accordance with the above research methods, the findings of the analyses are stated as the followings: 1. Accreditation indicators for elementary schools self-evaluation program in Taipei city contain six procedural stages, sixteen items and forty accreditation indicators, which are all applicable. 2. Of the entire weight system, “the job of conduction self-evaluation” was ranked as the most important whereas “the preparation of self-evaluation” was ranked as the least important. 3. Of the entire weight system, the most important evaluation item was “the analysis of the evaluation information”. 4. Among the six procedural stages, the most advantageous weight indicators are “Making self-evaluation policies”, “ Organizing relative training for self-evaluation”, “the Criteria of the self-evaluation reflect the efficiency of the school operation and the qualities of education”, “Explaining the standards of school evaluation criteria”, “the Results of the evaluation between the relationships of school members and the stakeholders”, “the Members of the evaluation are required to have educational administrative and practical experiences” and “Providing the plan for the improvement according to the recommendations of the evaluation”. In conclusion, recommendations were provided in relation to the findings of the research, which can be references for the further studies in the future for the Department of Education of Taipei City and the elementary schools in Taipei.
