The Effects of Perceived Supervisor's Style of Leadership and Employee's Emotional Intelligence on Job Stress and Job Satisfaction for Credit Departments of Commercial Banks

Popis: | 100 In the era of highly competitive profit, the job stress of employees in credit departments of commercial banks is increasing since working load is getting heavy. Although the employees are responsible for the sale performance, the studies explored how to reduce the job stress and to improve their job satisfaction are few. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships among leadership style, emotional intelligence of employee, job stress and job satisfaction based on the previous studies. The questionnaire was conducted to collect the data from the employees of credit departments in one commercial bank in Taiwan. The results show that the transformational leadership can reduce employee’s job stress but has no influence on job satisfaction, while the transactional leadership can improve employee’s job satisfaction. Moreover, emotional intelligence has significant effects on job stress and job satisfaction. Finally, this study discussed some managerial implications and proposed some suggestions for future researches.
