Fabrication and of Microwave Dielectric Materials and Design of Antenna for Wireless Communication Applications.

This thesis shows the preparation of the microwave dielectric materials, and the design of compact microstrip antenna wth different substrates.Firstly, the (Ca(0.4-x)A(x))Sm0.4TiO3(A = Mg2+ or Sr2+) and Ca0.4Sm0.4(Ti(1-x)B(x))O3(B = Zr4+) ceramics were prepared by using conventional solid-state methods and were characterized. It is interesting to study the influence of dielectric properties on the different substitutions in the A-sites or B-sites in the material system.On the other hand, due to compensated the near–zero τf value, CaTiO3, having a larger positive τf, was selected as a compensator and add to ZnAl2O4 to form a near-zero τf ceramic system (1-x)ZnAl2O4-(x)CaTiO3. The experimental results show that the excellent microwave dielectric properties (εr~10.69,Q×fvalue ~32000 GHz,τf~0 ) can be obtained for 0.92ZnAl2O4-0.08CaTiO3 sintered at 1400℃ for 4 h.Finally, a microstrip antenna has been designed and fabricated with different substrates such as 0.92ZnAl2O4-0.08CaTiO3 ceramic substrate and FR4 substrate.
