High Performance Controller for The Soft-Switching DC/AC Inverter

The controller for Full-Bridge Series-Resonant Inverter (FB-SRI) is proposed. Using frequency modulation control method, the FB-SRI can operate at soft-switching mode, so the switching loss is reduced. The fixed on-time/off-time control signal combined with the characteristic of series-resonant circuits makes all the power switches of FB-SRI can operate at zero-current switching (ZCS) mode. The most special feature of this chip is that it reduces the controller’s area by making all the control circuits on-chip. That is, the area of the controller can be narrow down to only one chip. The realization of the controller will be discussed in detail. To fit for normal FB-SRI’s specification, the controller can produce four 8kHz ~ 200kHz frequency modulated signals, and the changeable range of their on-time/off-time is 1μs~ 10μs.
