Popis: | 100 In this thesis, we propose a quality-efficient de-interlacing method for H.264-coded video sequences with different resolutions. In the proposed method, using the syntax elements (SEs) in H.264 bitstreams, two new de-interlacing processes are, respectively, delivered for intra and inter mode coded macroblocks(MBs) to improve the de-interlacing quality. The de-interlacing processes for intra mode coded MBs considers two extra edge directions with −22.5 degree and 22.5 degree to improve the quality of regions with slightly skewed edges. The de-interlacing processes for inter mode coded MBs, including four new strategies, improves the quality of de-interlaced videos as well as alleviates the error propagation side effect. Experimental results on popular test video sequences with the resolutions of common international format (CIF), quarter CIF (QCIF), standard-definition (SD), and full high-definition (HD) demonstrate the superiority of the proposed de-interlacing method in terms of both the objective video quality measure and subjective visual effect when compared with the state-of-the-art method by Dong and Ngan. The average peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) quality improvement of the proposed method over Dong and Ngan's method for the video sequences with the resolutions of QCIF, CIF, SD, and full HD can achieve, respectively, more than 1.86, 1.33, 0.59, and 0.88 dBs. |
