The purpose of this research was to observe and discuss about the massage practice done by caregivers in the day-care centers in Hsin Chu and to analysize the various massage procedure and effect practiced by different day-care centers. This research was expected to provide parents, preschool teachers, and staff from day-care centers and ducational organizations with specific needs and supports. This research was adapted from “the Survey of Infant Massage Practice by caregivers in Day cares and Nursery Centers.” The survey was given to 193 caregivers from 30 different day-care centers in Hsin-Chu. The analysized data should be descriptive statistics, Independent samples T test, and one-way ANOVA. The resuls of the analyses were presented as follows: I. The state of infant massage practiced by day- care centers in Hsin Chu: Practice of infant massage was rather common in Hsin Chu area. The study shows that the rate for infant massage practice in Hsin Chu is 98% high. The study also shows that the longer years of experiences the practioner devotes in infant massage practice, the higher level and the more complex procedure will be done by the practioners. Moreover, those infants who are more massages in a week show better effects than those who are given fewer massages in a week. In sum, the research result strongly supports infant massage practiced by every day-care centers or nursery organizations and institutes, and it was expected that by doing this, it will bring great benefits to the infants. II. Reasons for different backgrounds in Years of experiences in practicing massages, service areas,classes for attaining professional massage knowledge, the number of infant caregivers, duration of massage practice, whether using vegetable oil or not, and the main reasons for obstruction in infant massage hold distinctive differece from the content of massage lessons. III. The frequency of massage pratice and its effect from different background holds a signficant differences. Key words:child care personnel, day-care centers, infant massage
