A Study on Web Service Discovery based on Business Rule Annotation

Popis: | 100 Service-Oriented Computing (SOC) has become an important trend in software engineering, exploiting both web services and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) as fundamental elements to provide on-demand applications. Among a variety of SOC technology, web service discovery is the process of locating web services to satisfy the requirements of service requesters, and as such, plays an important role in building loosely coupled service-oriented applications. Today, many service discovery mechanisms are available, including (1) UDDI-based service search; (2) semantic and rule-based service discovery; and (3) text-based service matching. However, most of these efforts do not focus on linking actual business services in real world and do not provide an appropriate relaxation mechanism. Therefore, this paper proposes a service discovery approach to address above issues. The main features of the proposed approach include (1) to describe services using the proposed business rule annotation mechanism to describe condition rules, enumeration rules, and applied utility references; (2) to filter services through multiple filters, including kernel property filter, limitation property filter, and user property filter; (3) to calculate service ranking scores by consolidating QoS limitation values and setting of QoS importance rank; and (4) to assist users with locating appropriate services by the proposed service relaxation mechanism. |
