A Study on the Relationship between Teachers' Class Crisis Prevention and Classroom Management Efficiency in Kaohsiung Elementary Schools

Popis: | 102 The study aimed to explore the status and relationship between Teachers’ class crisis prevention and classroom management efficiency in Kaohsiung elementary schools, and to analyze the differential situation among diverse background variables. In order to reach the study aims, self-report questionnaire survey was adopted to collect data, and there were 578 samples stratified selected from 10,105 teachers in public elementary schools in Kaohsiung City. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test independent samples, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, and stepwise regression procedure. The main findings were as follows: 1. The class crisis prevention of elementary school teachers was quality, and deviant behaviour was rated highest. 2. The classroom management efficiency of elementary school teachers was quality, and environment arrangement was rated highest. 3. The teachers with master degree or above scored class safety, deviant behaviour, and discipline conflict higher than teachers with other education background. 4. Female teachers rated class administration and environment arrangement higher than male teachers. 5. Experienced teachers were superior to novices on crisis awareness, accident prevention, and environment arrangement, and teachers with 6-15 seniority were superior to novices on environment arrangement and interpersonal relationship. 6. The class crisis prevention and classroom management of teachers in middle or large schools were scored higher than teachers in small schools. 7. Teachers in elementary schools with better class crisis prevention were more likely to present higher classroom management efficiency. 8. Among all variables of class crisis prevention, discipline conflict had greatest influence on teachers’ classroom management efficiency. According to the findings above, this study proposed relevant suggestions for the reference of school administrative units, elementary school teachers, and future studies. |
