Nowadays the trends of industry are moving toward differentiated, high-value, and innovative product development. We must make reconfigurable and custom applications, plan and develop a complete system to facilitate high-efficiency, high-precision, uniform quality, and low-cost production methods.The mold & die industry must apply with fast research technology of product and services. The main purpose of this study is to build a parametric design system to shorten the design time by computers with information integrated. Mold design engineers can design the progressive strip layout more quickly and easily. The main purpose of this study is to build a parametric design system to shorten the design time by computers with information integrated. Mold design engineers can design the progressive strip layout more quickly and easily. The concept of this system is the application of CATIA, dividing the plot files into many modules, and set the program to configurate the parameters of each module as the basis of archival data. The system will draw the final product as well as the follow-up layout, according to the product size that user input, and perform the progress strip layout automatically. At final part of this study we use bearing parts as instance validation for this system. The progressive strip layout be drawn by the system is perfect and significantly improving the efficiency of die design.
