Numerous users are engaged in information search and sharing activities on virtual community (VC) websites. One crucial success factor for VCs is the quality of their website design. This study integrates the technology acceptance model (TAM) and website evaluation research to develop a framework that links website design factors (efficiency, information completeness, system availability, and privacy) to user trust and behavioral intention. I also examined how website quality influenced customer attitude / intention through customer perception of website usefulness and ease of use. Survey data were collected from 326 uses of fashionguide.com, one of the most popular fashion-themed virtual communities in Taiwan. The structural equation modeling (SEM) results show that VC website quality has a positive effect on customer perceived usefulness and ease of use, which in turn, affect customer trust and behavioral intention. The research and managerial implications of these results are discussed.
