The study of spacial planning of arenas to host international high level league competitions in Taiwan: Taking basketball, volleyball, and handball competitions as examples

| Popis: | 100 The author collected and analyzed the special requirements of international high level basketball, volleyball and handball competitions to understand the facility standards of international high level league competitions, and reviewed Taipei Arena, NTSU Arena, and Kaohsiung Arena through field survey to ensure if those arenas in Taiwan were able to host international sport competitions with that kind of level, and evaluate the best way of special planning in those arenas as well.The results show that the space of international high level league competitions can be divided into competition area and generic area. The competition areas of those three existing arenas in Taiwan meet the requirements of international high level basketball, volleyball and handball competitions, but they all lack of warm-up areas. The requirements of different constituent groups of the events should be considered when planning the facilities in the future. The main activity areas of a group should be arrange in a vertical part if possible. In that case, the competitions would achieve the fair principle, and the facilities would be functional and safety with the affluent circulations. |
