Popis: | 100 This thesis aims at how the queer science fiction represents the gender culture in the post-martial law period of the 90s Taiwan. At the beginning, gay movement cooperated with feminist movement in Taiwan, which was the period of criticizing the oppression to the minority sexuality from the partial system. However, there were conflicts about gay movement inside the feminist group, and resulted in separated routes between those two groups. Meanwhile, queer theory and practice has started adventurous politics to challenge the heterosexual hegemony. Different from the former period of gay movement, queer practice argued a new vision to overturn the partial system. The basic hypothesis of my thesis is the exploration of posthuman perspective in the queer science fiction deconstructs the traditional gender culture in Taiwan. My thesis focuses on Ta-Wei Chi’s and Lucifer Hung’s works those who are the important queer theorists and novelists in Taiwan. The introduction reveals the motive, the research methods, and the purpose of this thesis. Chapter two analyzes how the queer science fiction questions the relation between sex and the gender which are constructed by heterosexual system. Not only against the hegemony, have their works also provided a different angle to discuss the subjectivity through the relationship with the other. Furthermore, my thesis reveals the posthumanism in their works, which represent the disembodiment to argue the ambiguity of body boundaries. Following the analysis in chapter two, next chapter attempts to discuss the relation between body and internal desire on the internet. As a virtual space, internet is an important medium for queers. Chapter four aims at the posthuman-gender politics in queer science fiction and to break through the difficult position of gender movement in Taiwan. The conclusion provides the main ideas of my thesis, and the prospects for future research. |
