A Study on Pesticide Residues Detection of Vegetables by Using Concave Grating Spectrometer

The detection of fertilizer and pesticide residues was usually accomplished by the high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Even though this method provided accurate results, it was a time-consuming process at the same time. In this thesis concave grating spectrometer was employed to the realtime pesticide residue detection, and the feasibility of pesticide detection through spectral analysis technique was also evaluated. Wavelengths of 280 to 284 nm were chosen to describe the relations between spectrum information and Pak Choi solutions containing carbofuran at different concentrations. Tukey’s HSD and Scheffé method were used to make multiple comparisons, and model constructed by partial least squares regression (PLSR). Assessments indicated that the relationship between carbofuran involved or not was statistical significance but the prediction of the built models was not good enough to conduct the description of concentrations.
