Study of virtual CNC controller technology

The purpose of this research is to integrate CNC controller, servo control loop and the machine model for a preliminary study on virtual machine tool. In this research, Heidenhain iTNC 530 controller, which includes NC software interface, processing code and basic operation. The control parameters that related to machine’s precision and high-speed performance are being determined. A program written in visual Basic 6.0 is developed for data acquisition from iTNC 530. These TCP are used as input for MATLAB/Simulink servo control. It was then combine the machine model with servo control loop in RecurDyn simulation software, and with achieved basic coupled simulation of structured dynamics, and control loops of machine tools. It is hope that more expression of the full machine model can be added in the fu Expectations there will have more analyzing for machine model in the future. Such that a complete machine tool structure model can be building. Further analysis on tool’s cutting & thermal variation should be procedure in order to achieve the goal of building the virtual machine tool.
