Dynamics vegetation module is important for an air quality model to determine the micrometeorology. NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and LAI (Leaf Area Index) are indispensable indices for monitoring. In this study, NDVI data from NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) was used as an input of Gaussian Trajectory transfer-coefficient model (GTx) for LAI calculating, and improving the simulation of micrometeorology and concentration of air pollutants. LAI was assumed as a function of Julian day in GTx. However, it’s hard to know the seasonal and annual variations in LAI, and it’s difficult to used in large area for estimating LAI. In this study, CTCI land use data and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) data from NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) was used as an input of GTx to accurate the simulation of micrometeorology. The results shows that in rice paddy field, using NDVI as an input of GTx in Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) has reduce the RMSE of daily temperature from September to December in 2011. But there is no obvious variation in air quality simulation.
