For high concentrating photovoltaic, the concentrator will make a hot-spot on the surface of solar cell if the secondary optical element (SOE) is not used; else the SOE will decrease the optical efficiency of concentrators due to Fresnel reflections. In this design, each total-internal-reflection surface of a tooth will be designed to obey a condition of the aspect ratio of 0.5 to increase the freedom of the design profile. Through continuously adjusting the structure of the teeth, the light beam arriving at different locations on the chip surface of the cell can thus be handled. If the light beam on the chip surface is arranged with a way of crossing-incidence, the non-uniformity caused by the dispersion come from the solar spectrum can evidently be improved. Simulated optical efficiency is 84.7% and the acceptance half angle is 0.48°. Furthermore, the uniformity is 0.134, which very close to the Fresnel concentrator with a concentration ratio of 476X. Through the process of hot-pressed, the optical efficiency is still 84.7%, the acceptance half-angle is 0.6?, and the uniformity is 0.086.
