Popis: | 99 Due to Duke of Zhou established ritual and music in the Western Zhou Dynasty about three thousand years before, we started to have a formal and complete etiquette record of farewell service. Confucian scholars in the Pre-Qin era, especially filial piety and benevolence advocated by Confucius, elaborate funeral from Mencius and the concept of setting up the system festival from Xun Zi, these considerations of funeral and ritual has deeply affected its funeral etiquette for two thousand and five hundred years up to now. Farewell service is an important link in an overelaborate and long ritual funeral service. It is a public ceremony which composes of time and space, and also an occasion to say goodbye to the world at the end of life journey. The study discussed space and process design of farewell service from the viewpoint of design and funeral ritual itself. The study used qualitative approach. First chose funeral ritual as a basis of research and discuss from various literature materials, and go into the research field to collect materials by participant observation and unstructured interviews; and then analyze the cases and discuss its space design, process design and the connection, definition and function of each item in farewell service. The study hoped to figure out image representation and its symbol elements in the traditional funeral culture. There are three purposes of the study: (1)Analyze composed elements and representation of farewell service from funeral etiquette. (2)Use grounded theory to analyze the cases of farewell service.
