Popis: | 99 The bamboo flute instruments and their making had ancient origins, and were common members in Taiwan traditional music instrument family. Located in the south-east Asia, bamboo here in Taiwan Island grew more than any other places in the world so as to be an easily accessed material to make these four kinds of bamboo flute instruments as following: Phin-a, Tōng-siau, Ah-bo-ta̍t-a and Tshue-ka, which would be the main subjects discussed in this paper. Firstly and foremost in this paper, it would be taken into consideration of the historic development of bamboo culture, the catagorization of bamboo flute instruments, and the way how they produce sounds. Secondly, it was to sort out their organological basis including: the denominations of the instruments, their specific cultural features, their constructions and performances, how to apply in traditional folk music, the craftsmanship and the art of bamboo flute instrument manufactures. These instruments were so essential that they were extensively applied in traditional Taiwanese folk music such as Nan-guan, Bei-guan, and Taiwanese opera music, which were all closely interrelated. It was by this researches of these four bamboo flute instruments to grant us a thorough knowledge about the folk music culture in Taiwan. |
