A Study on the Students' Participating Motivation and Social Support of Baseball Teams

Popis: | 99 The purpose of this study was to (a) identify the current status of participation motivation and social support of baseball teams in Taipei City; (b) compare the differences among selected demographic variables on participation motivation of baseball teams in Taipei City; (c) compare the differences among selected demographic variables on social support of baseball teams in Taipei City; (d) analyze the relationship between participation motivation and social support of baseball teams in Taipei City; (e) analyze the prediction of participation motivation owing to the social support of baseball teams in Taipei City. The study used questionnaires, to those students of baseball teams in Taipei City. The self-made questionnaire “the study of students’ Participating Motivation and social support of baseball teams in Taipei City” was the research. The sample was 200 baseball team students randomly selected. From the survey returned, 189 were coded accounted of 94.5% in final response rate. Descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’s test, Pearson Product-Moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression were computed for data analysis. The results indicated that:(a) In respect of the only category “technique requirement” in elementary school students, the overall category and category “health adequacy” “social needs” “stimulus avoidance” in junior high school students;students with different academic performance have obvious differences in participating motivation;(b) In respect of the only category “stimulus avoidance” in elementary school students, the overall and separate categories in junior high school students;the participating motivation to continue joining the baseball teams after graduation has obvious differences;(c) In respect of the only category “family support” in elementary school students, the overall category and category “homeroom teacher’s support ” in junior high school students;students with different academic performance have obvious differences in social support;(d) In respect of the overall and separate categories in junior high school students, the social support to continue joining the baseball teams after graduation has obvious differences;(e) participation motivation and social support were positive correlation significantly;(f) Classmates’ support、homeroom teacher’s support and teammates’ support can predict participation motivation effectively. Several recommendations for further research were made by the author. |
