Study on the Effect of Cooling Water Temperature on Energy Consumption

Popis: | 99 Recently Taiwan’s industry type are trend to large electronics industries, there are FDP, Semiconductor, Solar industry, etc… Per these products production yield and process equipment operation environment need to build cleanroom fab. Currently factory’s economies of scale is get more big and big, but also their energy consumption are increasing. The one year power fee of electronic industries usually more than one hundred million NTD. If operator can do some saving energy method or understanding system feature, it’s can be save a lot of power consumption for company. According to ITRI’s report after adjust down water output temperature of cooling tower can reduced condensed pressure rising, further can enhance chiller’s efficiency. General speaking, water output temperature of cooling tower get down 1℃ can saving 1.5% power consumption of chillers. Take TRNSYS program to simulation 5,000 hours operation analysis. We study whole system power consumption within follows conditions, a) cooling towers and condenser water pumps with VFD control, b) chillers with fixed frequency variable volume control, c) setting cooling tower water output temperature not over 31℃, 32℃, and 33℃. During simulation period, we found if setup cooling tower water output temperature not over 31℃, 32℃, and 33℃ will increased 1% and 1.25% power consumption. Approximately can save 1.25% power consumption equal to decrease 1,650 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. From the simulation results that lower condensed water output temperature and keeping in high loads situation, cooling tower will speed up to increasing cooling capacities. Condensed water pump assort with cooling tower in order to delivery large quantities of condensed water. The power consumption will gradually rising cause by cooling tower water output temperature get lower. In the same time, chiller have more lower temperature condensed water and gain to better efficiency, therefore power consumption get reducing. Depend on our simulation and after complex power consumption statistics appear an achievement. We reducing temperature of condensed water have a real effect on system total power consumption. In case electronics industries all running in 24 hours 365 days per year, from save little energy after long years become amazing value. |
