The world is committed to expanding new clean energy such as a revolutionary green energy. Such type of green energy refers to a hybrid power system that combines various types of clean energy in order to increase the usage of green power and decrease the consumption of fossil fuels. This paper will discuss the optimal deployment of solar PV batteries, wind turbines, diesel generators and other hybrid power systems on the island of Lanyu, Taiwan using the HOMER software developed by the United States Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). It will also analyze the sensitivity of the electrical loads, solar radiation, wind speed, price of solar photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, and diesel and other parameters to understand the relationship between various parameters and systematic deployment optimization. Through analyses of system, environment, and economy, the paper concludes that the optimal system in the area is a hybrid power system of wind turbines and diesel generators.
