Exploring the Factors Influencing Technology Adoption in Agricultural Biotechnology Industry

| Popis: | 99 The biotechnology industry is a global newly arisen industry of modern age, which possesses great business opportunities and market potentials. Since the research and development of the agricultural biotechnology require great amount of investment, and at the same time, presents a great deal of risk, the R&D strategy, especially the decision of technology adoption, has become a very important issue for companies and institutes. In this study, seven factors which might influence the decisions of technology adoption were identified through literature reviews and expert interviews. Analytic hierarchy process（AHP）were then conducted to explore the priorities of these factors in terms of the decision making of technology adoption. It was found that patents, technological resource, and human resource are the major three factors that influence the decision of technology adoption. Suggestions and recommendations were also made to government as well as firms in the hope to improve the effectiveness of R&D strategy.formulation. |
