Purpose: To investigate the effect of body composition and gender difference on adolescent exercise capacities and their correlations. Methods: The sample included 437 students (mean age: 15.08±0.28 years; height: 165.71±7.98cm; weight 60.23±13.47㎏; body mass index [BMI]: 21.77±3.90kg/m2; percentage body fat: 20.83±7.16%) from a junior high school in Taipei City. They were categorized into the lightweight, normal, overweight and obese groups by BMI. Ten exercise capacities tests were administered. Statistical techniques included one-way ANOVA, t-test and Pearson correlation; and the significance level was α=.05.
