Over the long term, demand for float glass is growing at almost 5% per annum. This growth is fuelled by the demand for building glazing and automotive glass, which in turn is driven by economic growth. Over the last 20 years, float demand growth has outpaced real GDP growth. Over the past 10 years, float demand has exceeded GDP growth by around three percentage points. By review and analyze literatures we obtain seven characteristics of the glass industry in Taiwan. 1. The price of export is higher than selling internally. 2. Economies of scale. 3. Industry agglomeration. 4. High energy consumption and pollution. 5. Recyclable. 6. Upstream monopoly and downstream perfectly completive market. 7. Technology depends. 8. Application. After visiting the operator of Taiwan Glass Industry Company, we know the technological cooperation strategy, the marketing strategy, the investment plan, and how do become the market leading positions. We got to know the influence of protectionism and the region conformity to Taiwan Glass Industry Company. We also know the strategy of sustainable management.
