China's Energy Security Strategy: the case of Sino-Russia energy cooperation and friction

Popis:	99 The main purpose of this thesis is, by examining the friction and cooperation between China and Russia in their energy relations, to analyze how China develops its energy security strategies according to various internal and external circumstances. China’s rapid economic growth has greatly enhanced its energy demand. In the face of various energy problems from within and without, China has sought to develop a comprehensive responding strategy that best serves its national interests. Among China’s energy partners, Russia is one of the most important exporters of oil and natural gas. The energy relationship between these two countries, however, is mixed with opportunities and difficulties. This study utilizes SWOT analysis to investigate how China develops its energy strategy and accordingly interacts with Russia under various energy circumstances.
