Professor WANG, Chai-Guei started to promote children’s classics reading and established related theories in 1991. Classics reading is one of the most popular outside school educations, and classics reading in family is one important link beside school teachers’ promotions. How parents lead their children to read classics decides if they will continue it in the future. The method of this research on children’s classics reading is family reading, and brings children to experience the pleasures of classics reading. This research takes children’s explorations and conversations as its standard, and it is to appreciate and to express in classics reading. The researcher designs discussing topics related to children’s expressing experiences and combines multiple media. The co-learning process, conversation and introspection, interactions between classic literature and modern children are recorded. There are five chapters in this paper. Chapter one is introduction, and it gives the research motive, problem consciousness, purpose, method and steps. Chapter two gives the summary of the ways and teachings of family classics reading. It includes close reading, explorations and conversations, using connected classics reading multimedia and individual feedbacks on sharing and understanding. Chapter three and four analyze the teaching plans, records of explorations and conversations, for example how the children build their viewpoints from reading Shanhaijing (The Classic of Mountains and Rivers). Chapter five is the research results. Chapter six is the conclusions, and it also suggests possible problems and solutions while teaching.
