Popis: | 99 The study was an action research on designing and implementing a digital instruction program about calendar-related concepts. The subject of this experiment consisted of nity-seven second-grade elementary school students. The information collected from conceptual tests, interviews, classroom observations, teaching journals, dialogues and discussions between peer teachers in this experiment, mathematical diary and learning attitudes toward mathematics was analyzed. It helped to understand the process and considerations of developing a digital instructional program, the challenges that the researcher met and solutions, reflections and modifications. In addition, it showed the effectiveness of the implementation of digital instruction programs. The research was conducted in three phases. First, it focused on the theme of recognition, literature review, textbook analysis, and software learning. Second, through the discussion between the researcher and the six peer teachers, it focused on the development, modification and practice of the program. Finally, the program was applied to the other class of the same grade and the effectiveness of the program was discussed after the implementation. The results showed that students had clearer concepts on calendar and they had better performances on mathematical diary. Besides, digital instruction programs enhanced student’s motivation to learn and to participate in class. In the process of designing digital instruction programs, the main change of the researcher was that she increased her knowledge of calendar-related concepts, became more familiar with instructional design and implementation, improved teaching strategies, emphasized the link of mathematics learning and daily experiences, and paid attention to the ability of technology. According to the results of the research, some suggestions are provided. Before designing instruction programs, teachers should set up workshops to develop curriculum expertise. When digital instruction program is implemented in class, good classroom management can not be ignored. Also, operating digital instrument properly encourages to learn. Student-centered learning strategy promotes teacher-student interaction and provides students more opportunities to practice and express their opinions, which will help students internalize the concept easily. |
