Cross Cultural Adjustment:The Study of Expatriate Employees Workingin High-tech Company in Taiwan

Popis: | 99 In recent decades, Taiwan has witnessed the gradually development in economics which are mostly based on high technology industries and abundance of skillful manpower. A shortage of the local skillful labor, reasons to open up Taiwan‟s job market to expatriates, leads to many challenges adjusting with foreign expatriates. One of the adjustments is expatriate cultural adjustment. This study analyzes the relationships of social supports, social capital to cultural adjustment through interviewing nine skillful expatriates working in ChiMei Innolux. The results reveal that social capital plays an important role in creating and developing the adjustment level of expatriates. Besides, this study also shows that the social support and cultural adjustment affect on the expatriates‟ adjustment such as general adjustment, interaction adjustment and work adjustment. |
